Faster approvals in Italy.

And processes ready to scale. We step in to follow each process from start to finish, structure it with clear owners, then automate the steps people repeat, inside your systems. The people you meet stay on your work from the first day to the last.

02 · What we see in Italy

What we see in Italy

  • Family firms in industrial districts.

Many mid-sized Italian companies are family-owned manufacturers and distributors, often with a generational handover under way. Decisions sit with a few people, and the next generation needs them written down.

  • Approvals wait in inboxes.

Documents arrive electronically but are still checked, forwarded and signed by email. Work waits for the one person who can approve it, and nobody can see where it is stuck.

  • Growth abroad tests the back office.

Exporters adding customers and subsidiaries outside Italy find that each new market brings its own workarounds. A process that runs well in one plant has to survive two or three.

03 · Local rules we design for

Local rules we design for

  • Since April 2025, buyers must report missing or wrong supplier invoices within 90 days.

Italian B2B invoices have passed through the SdI since 2019. Version 1.9 of the technical rules, live from 1 April 2025, added document type TD29: if a supplier fails to invoice or invoices incorrectly, the buyer must report it within 90 days or face a penalty of 70% of the VAT, at least €250. We connect to the SdI through your existing intermediary or ERP; we are not an accredited SdI channel. Documents usually arrive electronically but are still checked and approved by hand; matching them to orders, routing them and flagging missing ones before the 90 days run out is where teams recover the most hours.

  • NIS2 baseline measures are due by October 2026.

Under Legislative Decree 138/2024, entities on the ACN's NIS list have had to notify significant incidents since January 2026. The baseline security measures set by the ACN in December 2025 must be in force by the end of October 2026. Each measure needs evidence that someone can produce on request.

  • Italy has its own AI law since 10 October 2025.

Law 132/2025 was the first national AI law in the EU, sitting alongside the AI Act. Among other things, it requires employers to inform staff when AI is used in the workplace. We design every AI step so staff are informed, a person stays responsible and the step is documented.

  • GDPR.

We build inside your systems and accounts and record which personal data each automation uses. We are not a GDPR certifier; your DPO keeps that role.

04 · Where we usually start

Where we usually start

  1. Roles and decision rights for the handover

We map who decides what today, write down the processes that live with the founders, and agree roles, approval limits and the KPIs the next generation will run on.

  2. Customer orders confirmed the same day

Incoming orders are checked against stock and production capacity, and the customer gets a confirmed date without anyone chasing the plant. Orders that don't fit go to a planner with the conflict already spelled out. Example: order confirmation from 2 days to the same day.

Tools: TeamSystem · Zucchetti · SAP Business One

  3. NIS2 evidence on file for the ACN

Access reviews, incidents and supplier assessments are logged as they happen into one register mapped to the ACN measures. When an inspection comes, the file is ready.

05 · How we work with teams in Italy

How we work with teams in Italy

  • We work remotely from Switzerland and Portugal, with on-site weeks in Milan or wherever your team is based. Northern Italy is a short trip from our Swiss side, in the same time zone. Devvion has no office in Italy.
  • Business consulting assesses, maps and structures the work; forward-deployed engineering automates it. Forward-deployed means our engineer works inside your business, not from a ticket queue.
  • The people you meet stay on your work from the first day to the last, and we take on a handful of clients at a time.
  • Workshops and calls run in English. If screens or documents must be in Italian, we raise it during the assessment and plan a native reviewer. Your agreement is with Devvion Inc., registered in Delaware.

06 · Questions from companies in Italy

Questions from companies in Italy

  • Can we work with you on consulting only, without automation?

Yes, Devvion does business consulting on its own in Italy: assessment, process maps, roles, controls and KPIs, usually over 4 to 12 weeks. Automation can follow with us, or with your own IT partner.

  • We're handing the company to the next generation. Can you help?

Devvion helps family companies write down how the business really runs: who decides, which numbers matter and how each core process works. That gives the next generation a company they can run without calling the founder for every answer.

  • Our people are stretched. How much of their time will this take?

Devvion keeps the load light: during the two-week assessment, most people give us one interview and one walk-through of their work. After that, a named owner per process reviews our drafts weekly. We do the writing and the building; your team decides.

  • Do you work with TeamSystem or Zucchetti?

Devvion works in Italy with TeamSystem, Zucchetti, SAP Business One and other common ERPs. We keep your software and automate the steps around it.

  • Where does AI fit?

Devvion uses AI only where a person reads and decides, such as free-text notes or supplier emails, and always with staff informed and a person responsible. Everything else is rules-based automation.

  • What happens first?

Devvion starts Italian engagements with the two-week assessment, ending in a maturity score per process, an overhead number and ranked opportunities. It's a fixed fee, credited if you continue. Consulting then runs 4 to 12 weeks, engineering 6 to 16.
