Processes ready to scale in Germany.
For the Mittelstand, from assessment to automation. We step in where the work gets stuck: we assess and structure how departments hand work to each other, then automate the repeated steps inside your systems. The people you meet stay on your work from the first day to the last.
Process structure and automation for 50–500 person companies in Germany: family-owned firms short of skilled staff, running business software, an outside accounting setup and spreadsheets in between.
Our technicians mostly drive.
Jobs are given out from a whiteboard and phone calls, so technicians cross the city twice and come back for parts. We match jobs to skill and location automatically.

Skilled people are hard to hire, so their hours matter more.
Finance, purchasing and planning roles stay open for months. The people already there spend part of their week copying data between systems and chasing approvals. Taking that work off them is cheaper than the hire you can't make.
Family ownership and the next generation.
Many Mittelstand firms are owner-run, and a handover to the next generation or a new managing director is close. Much of how the company works lives in a few heads. Writing it down, with clear roles and decision rights, makes the handover safer.
Strong systems, weak links between them.
Most firms have a solid ERP and a separate accounting setup, often with an outside adviser. The gaps sit between them: exports, re-keying and paper printouts so someone can sign. That is where the hours go.

E-invoices: receiving since 2025, issuing from 1 January 2027 above €800,000 turnover.
Every German business has had to accept EN 16931 e-invoices since 1 January 2025. Issuing becomes mandatory in 2027 for companies whose prior-year turnover exceeded €800,000, and for everyone in 2028. We connect your ERP to your e-invoicing provider; we are not a certified provider. Your tax adviser confirms what applies to you.

The GoBD treat the XML as the invoice of record.
A BMF letter of 14 July 2025 updated the GoBD for e-invoices: archiving the structured XML part is enough, and the PDF image only counts when it carries extra tax-relevant information. Archives built around scanned paper need rethinking.

NIS2 has been German law since 6 December 2025.
The implementation act widened the circle of regulated companies from a few thousand to tens of thousands. In-scope entities register with the BSI, report significant incidents within 24 hours and keep records of their risk measures. Mid-sized manufacturers and logistics firms are often in scope for the first time. The BSI criteria and your counsel decide scope.

GDPR and the works council.
We record which personal data each automation uses. Where an automation touches employee data, we expect your works council to be involved and provide the documentation it needs. We don't certify GDPR compliance.

Decision rights and an approval matrix
We map who approves what today, find the steps where work waits for one signature, and agree a clear matrix with limits and deputies. It is often the fastest gain, and it makes any later automation simpler.
Stock replenished before the line stops
Reorder points are set per part from real usage and lead times. When stock drops below them, a purchase proposal goes to the buyer with the quantity already worked out, and the approved order goes to the supplier. Example: stock-outs on key parts cut by 60%.

NIS2 records kept as you work
Access reviews, patch status and incident tickets are written to one register as they happen. If the BSI or a customer asks, your evidence is complete and dated.

05 · How we work with teams in Germany
How we work with teams in Germany
- We work remotely from Switzerland and Portugal, with on-site weeks in your plant or office when the process needs to be seen. Germany and Switzerland share a clock. Devvion has no German office.
- Business consulting assesses, maps and structures the work; forward-deployed engineering automates it. Forward-deployed means our engineer works inside your business, not from a ticket queue. Most clients buy both, in that order.
- We bring the discipline of large-enterprise operations down to your size, and the people you meet stay on your work from the first day to the last.
- Our team works in English. If documentation or screens must be in German, we flag it during the assessment and plan a German-speaking reviewer. You sign with Devvion Inc., a Delaware company.

Questions from companies in Germany
Can we hire you for consulting only, without automation?
Yes, Devvion runs business consulting on its own in Germany: assessment, process maps, roles, controls and KPIs, usually over 4 to 12 weeks. Many firms then automate with us, but some take the new process to their own IT team.
Does our works council need to be involved?
Devvion expects it whenever an automation touches employee data, such as access, shift or performance records. We document what each automation reads and why, in a form the works council can review, and plan that review into the timeline rather than after go-live.
Do you work with DATEV?
Devvion works with DATEV and with the ERPs that feed it, such as SAP Business One and Dynamics 365 Business Central. Your external accountant keeps their DATEV setup; we automate the flow into it.
Can you help us get ready for ISO 9001 or 27001?
Devvion gets you ready: documented processes, roles, controls and the evidence an auditor will ask for. An accredited body does the certification itself. The same structure also helps with succession and customer audits.
Do you build AI agents or classic automation?
Devvion mainly builds classic automation in Germany. AI goes in only where a person reads and decides, such as a PDF from a small supplier or a free-text service request.
How do we begin?
Devvion opens every German engagement with the two-week assessment: interviews, a system inventory, a maturity score per process, an overhead number and ranked opportunities. It's a fixed fee, deducted if you carry on.
