Egypt · Cairo, Alexandria and beyond

Lower overhead in Egypt.

Without adding headcount. We step in as operators: a two-week assessment, then we map and standardize the work and automate what shouldn't be manual. The people you meet stay on your work from the first day to the last.

02 · What we see in Egypt

What we see in Egypt

  • Costs went up; the back office went up with them.

Since the pound was floated in March 2024, imported costs and salaries have been under pressure. Many mid-sized firms answered by hiring more admin staff to keep up with filings, approvals and reporting. The cheaper route is to remove the steps that only exist to copy data from one system into another.

  • Management runs on WhatsApp and spreadsheets.

Orders, approvals and exceptions are agreed in chat groups, then someone copies them into Excel and the ERP. The figures leadership reads are days old, and the person who knows the real status is usually the founder or one manager.

  • The company grew faster than the way it was set up.

Firms that doubled to 150 or 200 people still send most decisions through a few key people. A second site or an office abroad copies the same informal habits, and the rework travels with them.

Local rules we design for

  • Personal data: Law 151 of 2020, fully enforced from 31 October 2026

The executive regulations took effect on 1 November 2025, with a 12-month grace period. From 31 October 2026, the Personal Data Protection Centre enforces licensing, including for cross-border transfers. Customer data scattered across spreadsheets and phones is the hardest part to account for.

  • ETA e-invoices and e-receipts

B2B e-invoicing with the Egyptian Tax Authority has run since 2020. B2C e-receipts roll out in waves: Decision 361 brought another group of named taxpayers in from 15 November 2025. Each wave adds a flow where sales data has to reach the tax system the same day, signed and correct.

04 · Where we usually start

Where we usually start

  1. An approval matrix the whole company follows

We list the decisions that wait on the founder or one manager, agree who decides what and up to which amount, and write it down. Then the matrix goes into your workflow tools, so approvals stop living in chat.

  2. Orders from chat into the ERP, with an owner

Orders agreed on WhatsApp or by phone go into one short form, are checked for stock and credit, and land in the ERP with a named owner. Leadership sees open orders the same day, not in a spreadsheet rebuilt every week.

  3. Collections that follow up on their own

Overdue balances trigger reminders on WhatsApp and email, escalate after a set number of days, and update the receivables report. Your finance team handles disputes, not reminders.

05 · How we work with teams in Egypt

How we work with teams in Egypt

  • We work remotely from Switzerland and Portugal and come to Cairo for on-site weeks at the start and at key points. We don't have an office in Egypt.
  • The people you meet in the assessment stay on your work from the first day to the last. Forward-deployed means our engineer works inside your business, not from a ticket queue.
  • Cairo is one hour ahead of Central Europe. We work in Arabic and English, and write documentation in the language your team uses.
  • You contract with Devvion Inc., registered in Delaware. Where a local rule needs a government platform or a signing setup, we connect your systems to it; we are not an accredited provider.

06 · Questions from companies in Egypt

Questions from companies in Egypt

  • How do we reduce overhead without letting people go?

Devvion removes admin steps in Egypt, not staff. The hours we give back go to work your team never had time for, such as collections, customer follow-up or analysis. We measure the hours before and after, on your own data.

  • Can you help us without building any automation?

Devvion's business consulting in Egypt often stops before any code. We assess, map the process, write the SOPs, approval limits and KPIs, and get you ready for ISO 9001 or 27001 if that's the goal. Automation is a later step you can take with us, with someone else, or not at all.

  • Which local rules do you design for?

Devvion designs for the Egyptian rules listed on this page, with their dates and sources. We connect Odoo and other ERPs to the government systems, signing and rejections included. For Law 151 of 2020, we map where personal data sits and automate the register; whether you need a PDPC licence is a question for your counsel.

  • Do you build AI agents or just automations?

Devvion builds both in Egypt, in that order. Most of the work is fixed automation: data that moves on its own. We add AI agents only where a person reads something and makes a decision, such as sorting documents or drafting replies.

  • Is this for small businesses?

Devvion works with companies in Egypt of 50 to 500 people. Below that, off-the-shelf tools usually do the job. Above it, you likely have an internal team, and we work alongside it.

  • How does it start, and how long does it run?

Devvion starts every engagement in Egypt with a paid two-week assessment, credited if you continue. Consulting then runs 4 to 12 weeks and engineering 6 to 16, each with an optional retainer afterwards. We take on a handful of clients at a time, at most.

07 · Contact

Count the admin hours before you add another hire.

The two-week assessment gives you the number, a map of the process and the first thing to fix. We reply in Arabic or English, whichever you write in.
